Witnes the birth of the power chord, that loaded, chunky progression, "duhn, duhn, DAHHHN," that lewd bass and drums loping along beneath it. The mere two minutes, two thundering repetitious minutes, were capable of inspiring both Iggy Pop and Richard Thompson, two musicians whose body of work could hardly be more dissimilar. There's power in those chords indeed.
